Texas Hunting and Outdoors Expo!

The 2010 Texas Hunting and Outdoors Expo is proud to announce its benefiting Texas Skies District of The Boy Scouts of America with a $1 from every full price ticket.  Highlights of this year's show include Live Bass Fishing Demos, FREE Paintball – Hunting Style, Randy Oitker, Archery Champion, Merit Badge Opportunities for Boy Scouts and recreational activities relating to hunting, fishing, conservation, wildlife and much more.

The Boy Scouts will also be given opportunities to qualify for merit badges thanks to our featured guests and Speakers: Randy Oitker - Archery Champion, Keith Johnson - Fishing Pro and
Vicki McMillan - Wildlife Artist - ARTreach.

Vickie McMillan, ARTreach award-winning wildlife artist, who partnered with Katy ISD McRoberts Elementary students and teachers to create a 365 square foot mural, will be working “hands on” with the youth at the show to produce a wildlife painting that will be donated to Katy’s new Texas Children’s Hospital.

If you live on the West side of town you don't have to drive into Houston anymore for a great Hunting, Fishing & Outdoors Show! Now there's one in your "neck of the woods".

The Texas Hunting & Outdoors Expo will be held at the Merrell Center in Katy on July 17-18, 2010. Held just in time to make preparations for the upcoming Hunting Season, this expo will be THE place in West Houston to find all your hunting, fishing and outdoor needs!  Whether you are an experienced hunter or fisherman or a novice looking to learn - this is the show for you.

Keith Johnson and the Bass Tub by Hurt Promotions

Learn tips and techniques from Keith Johnson, professional bass fisherman, as he stands above the 4000 gallon mobile aquarium and demonstrates the intricacies of Bass Fishing.  Keith has been  bass fishing professionally for most his adult life and has 7 wins and 48 top 10s to his credit. He has fished: B.A.S.S. Opens, FLW Tour, FLW Series, Stren Series, Wal-Mart  BFLs, Triton Team Trail, Ranger Team Trail, Fisher’s of Men Team Trail, Angler’s Choice Team Trail and many other regional tournaments.

HGC SCI First for hunters - Sensory Safari

Our Sensory Safari has come a long way since its inception 10 years ago. What began as a modest, portable display of taxidermy for disadvantaged youth has become a true mobile display featuring over forty examples of wildlife from six continents. Donated to the Chapter largely by Chapter members Dr. Sam Williams and Bill Hintze, as well as other members and the general public, these mounts allow young and old alike to touch, feel, and get up close and personal with species that, in many cases, they had only read about or seen in photographs or on the television. To watch the awe on the face of a young child as they place their hand in the maw of a grizzly bear, or delight in stroking the mane of a Himalayan tahr never ceases to make me smile.

Randy Oitker - Guiness Book of World Records

Randy Oitker recently traveled to London, England for the Guinness Book Of World Records TV show called Guiness World Records Smashed to make archery history! On April 7, 2009. Randy Oitker shot 6 arrows and simultaneously hit 6 separate balloons!

Randy's shows last about 45min. to 1 hour. Randy does several different shots including laying down, shooting multiple arrows at lifesavers and also at balloons. He will also be doing his Guinness World Record shot 6 arrows with one shot 6 arrows at a time and hitting 6 separate balloons.
